📢 Announcement: Bonus Prediction Task for the 3rd (Public) CMI-PB Challenge

We are excited to announce a bonus prediction task for the 3rd (Public) CMI-PB Challenge! This bonus task will be evaluated independently from the main challenge, and participants can choose to participate at their own discretion.

Task Overview:

  • Background: We have been measuring T cell responses in vaccine recipients using peptide pools containing the aP vaccine antigens. Research indicates that aP-primed individuals have a polarization skewed towards Th2 responses (including IL-5 secretion), while wP-primed individuals have a polarization skewed more towards Th1 (including IFN-γ secretion). This divergence in T cell responses between aP and wP-primed individuals has been linked to differences in vaccine efficacy and durability and is maintained after booster vaccination. We aim to understand the mechanisms that maintain these polarization differences and published our recent findings on this as a preprint [PMID: 39149302].
  • Task 4.1: Predict and rank individuals based on their Th1/Th2 (IFN-γ/IL-5) polarization ratio on Day 30 post-booster vaccination.

Details:

  • Submission Deadline: November 22, 2024 (same as for other 3rd Challenge tasks)
  • Prize: The winner of the bonus task will receive a $500 cash prize.
    • Prize details are here (same as for other 3rd Challenge tasks).
  • Co-Authorship Opportunity: Based on the task outcomes, submissions with a significant correlation coefficient will be a co-authors in the 3rd challenge manuscript.
  • Optional Participation: Participation in the bonus task is optional and does not affect performance in the main challenge.

Submission Guidelines:

  • We have revised the submission file to include Task 4.1 (the bonus prediction task). Please prepare your submission file for this bonus task according to the specified format and submit it along with your other tasks. If you choose not to participate in the bonus task, you can leave this task blank and submit it without it.

Good luck, and we look forward to your submissions!
