Submission Guidelines for the Second Challenge: Preliminary & Final Phases Explained

We will accept both preliminary and final submissions for the second challenge. Please use the submissions page to submit your entry.

Preliminary submissions (Sept 12 - Nov 30, 2023):

We’re excited to kick off the second challenge with preliminary submissions. These are primarily designed for testing purposes, allowing participants to document their submissions without entering into final submissions. As the second challenge serves as a testing round before the CMI-PB challenge is opened to the public next year, the CMI-PB team invites contestants to discuss any tasks they believe are unsolvable. The two main objectives for this phase are:

  • To document any initial work, as the task list may change as a result from your feedback
  • To thoroughly assess and ensure the efficiency of the submission pipeline

Submissions during this phase will not be considered a final submission.

Final submissions (Dec 1, 2023 - Jan 16, 2024):

The final submission window opens on December 1, 2023. At this stage, it’s crucial for contestants to include ranks for the designated tasks within their submissions. Please be aware that while each participant is permitted to submit up to 5 entries, only the final (most recent) submission file will be taken into consideration for evaluation. Any alterations to the task list will be promptly communicated to contestants via email.

If you’ve already submitted an entry during the preliminary submissions period (September 12th to November 30th), we kindly request that you also submit a final entry within this designated timeframe (December 1st to January 16th) to participate fully in the challenge.
