Shannon et al provide a comprehensive review of various methods in the field of multi-omics, detailing each step needed to address multi-omics interaction and building prediction model. The authors also delve into core concepts from multimodal machine learning - such as Representation, Alignment, Generation, Transference, Reasoning, and Quantification - to effectively summarize approaches for multi-omics data integration.
